Flower Making Instructions
To make one flower you will need 4 petals, one wire piece and one strip to make a center of the flower.

1. Start by cutting 28 gauge brown wire into 3-4 cm pieces, you will need about 15 pieces.

2. Make a loop on one end of each wire piece. Using scissors pinch the end of the wire and twist.

3. Cut 0.5-0.7cm wide strips, you will need about 15.

4. Using a wide fan paint brush, apply vodka to both sides of the strip. Let it sit for 30 seconds, to let the vodka soak through, making the paper soft and sticky. Don’t leave the paper on the table for too long or it will dry up and stick to the surface.

5. When the strip is very sticky to the touch and very soft, start making the bulbs. Place the wire at one edge of the strip, close it up and start rolling. Make a bulb that’s 0.5-0.7 cm in diameter. Stick the wire to a piece of styrofoam or floral foam.

6. Using the flower template, cut out 50-60 petals (3.5cm long and 2cm wide).

7. Mix 10 grams of vodka and 4 grams of glycerin to soak the flower petals.

8. Color the mixture using red cherry, red raspberry and black water soluble food colorings. Make sure the color of the mixture is rich and as deep as desired color of your petals.

9. Start soaking the petals. Lay out four petals at once. Using the wide brush, dip it in the mixture, pressing against the edge of the cup to remove the excess. Color the petals on one side with just a single swipe. Flip it and color the other side. Leave them for 20 to 30 seconds, and then check them by touching. If they’re soft and sticky, it means they’re ready to be assembled.

10. Start assembling the flower. Take one center bulb, which is still wet and attach the petal to it. Next, attach the second petal, overlapping the first one. Attach the third and fourth petals, overlapping the previous one. Press the petals to the center.

11. While the petals are still soft you can shape them – either opening them up or closing them in – depending on what you want the flowers to look like.

12. Repeat the process with all the other flowers.
Leaves Making Instructions
To make one leaf you will need a petal, one wire piece and one strip.

1. Cut 28 gauge brown wire into 3-4 cm pieces, you will need about 10 pieces.

2. Using the flower template, cut out 10-15 petals (3.5cm long).

3. Cut 3mm wide 3 cm long strips for the patches, you will need about 10-15.

4. Mix 10 grams of vodka and 4 grams of glycerin to soak the leaves.

5. Color the mixture using red and green water soluble food colorings. Make sure the color of the mixture is rich and as deep as the desired color of your leaves.

6. Start soaking the leaves and patches. Lay out two to four leaves and the patches for each leaf. Using the wide brush, dip it in the mixture, pressing against the edge of the cup to remove the excess. Color the leaves on one side with just a single swipe. Flip it and color the other side. Repeat the process with patches. Leave them for 20 to 30 seconds, and then check them by touching. If they’re soft and sticky, it means they’re ready to be assembled.

7. Start assembling. Place the wire on top of the leaf and cover it with the soaked patch. Make sure to place the wire close to the upper edge of the leaf. Press well along the length of the patch. And lift up the leaf by the upper edge.

8. While the leaf is soft, we can bend the wire and shape the leaf. Any shape you like.

9. Leave to dry for about 20-30 minutes.
Branch Assembling Instructions
To make one leaf you will need a petal, one wire piece and one strip.

1. Start by making a branch. Take three 28 gauge wires and twist them together. Make three branches.

2. To make a long branch, join three branches together. Take the ends of the wires, place them on top of each other with an overlap of about 2 cm, and twist them together.

3. Wrap the entire wire with floral tape. Roll out a long piece of tape and tear it off. Stretch it out a little. When stretched out, floral tape becomes sticky and will attach well to the wire. Place an edge of the wire onto the tape, cover the wire with the tape, and gently but firmly twist with two fingers, rolling them, while attaching the tape. The wire will rotate, while the floral tape will wrap itself around it. It has to be tight, so that it doesn’t come off at all. Hold the tape at a slight angle, making sure that it wraps in a thin layer and covers a larger area of the wire.

4. Next will attach the flowers using the very same floral tape. First, place the flower stem against the branch and cover it with tape.

5. Next, place one of the leaves onto the branch and wrap it with floral tape. Leave a gap of about 3 cm between the flower and the leaf. You can choose to space them out more or have them closer, according to your aesthetic.

6. Place the next flower below, and wrap it with floral tape.

7. Repeat the process until the whole length of the branch is covered with flowers and leaves.

8. Attach the last flower face the other direction to make sure the branch looks complete from both edges.
FAQs
You can substitute vodka with water. But when using water make sure to soak the petals a little less than I did in the video. Water soaks through a lot more than the vodka because it takes longer for the water to evaporate compared to vodka. Vodka softens the water and quickly dries, whereas it takes some time for water to dry.
